When was your roof installed? This is an important question you must ask yourself. Depending on the roofing materials, roofs are designed to last for around 30 to 40 years. Nonetheless, if your roof has been exposed to lots of rain and snow, your roof may not last for more than 15 to 20 years.

·      The shingles are damaged

Take the time to go into the attic of your home and check the walls and ceilings. Are there water stains on them? If yes, the water stains are signs that water is leaking into your attic. So, check the vents and seals of your roof to see if there are any cracks or leaks in them. Loose flashing, rust chimney, or cracked seals are signs that your roof is damaged.

·      Your gutter is rusting or leaking

Rusted or leaking gutters are other signs that may show a damaged roof. Seam contraction and expansion are some of the major causes of rusting or leaking gutter.
